The most expensive archive failures we see arrive months after a “successful” migration. Indexes point to old paths. Formats need viewers nobody installed. Vendor contracts ended without an export proof.
An archive integrity check is not a full recordkeeping audit. It is a retrieval drill: can you open what you claim to keep, for the periods your schedule names? Run that drill before the next review season, not during it.
